Jabots and my old machine-made lace high-neck dress (almost vintage)

(my) lace, high- neck dress, size 10, 1980’s St. Michaels; marks & spencer, the skirt of this could be wefted maybe . . .extending white lace warp on ‘shoulders’ to follow through with seams of lace high-neck dress…… evokes the Nottingham Jabots I studied in Nottingham museum’s lace collections, male and female frills to cover, to hide the closure of a shirt, dress or blouse…. Can the white lace warp on shoulders be extended and weft of heather mauve pink skirt added . . . ?

my old nightdress

My old nightdress, mum bought this for me for a birthday… may of even had it for my 18th, anyway had it and worn it a long time before it ripped down the back.

worn between 1988 maybe ? through to 2003 ish ?… not sure. Colour and printed bow reference, originally from marks and spencer,  the ribbon warp seams to of devoured her

undo and redo

Not sure about the black lace from the evening gown, too new, not enough history, although like to black lace reference in contrast to yellow embroidery analgise handmade gown fabric…

Option between the neckline focus and strap line tension band, more scope in neckline…possibly…both to be undone and reworked…

St Michael’s pale pink negligee

Pale pink/peach st Michael’s negligee. Lovely old woven pale blue st Michaels garment label… fleshy overtones. Nylon fabric very thin, holes in places and laddering. scoop neckline with ruffled frill and ribbon detail… wondering if it should have an additional layer….

The lace, frill ribbon effect has a Victorian reference. Like the pale pinky peachy colour next to the grey satin ribbon warp…
