‘The Self Skins’ return to Goldsmiths, University of London

I am really so pleased to announce that ‘The Self Skins’ (1-8) have now returned back home to Goldsmiths, University of London and are now part of Goldsmiths Textile Collection, Special Collections & Archives, based in the Constance Howard Gallery, Goldsmiths Deptford Town Hall Building, London. http://www.gold.ac.uk/textile-collection/

‘The Self Skins’ were my final works for my Goldsmiths 1995 Textile degree show. These nine works have been exhibited and published extensively post-degree show, including in Crafts Magazine, Flexible 2; Netherlands Textile Museum & European Tour, Observer magazine and Bankfield Museum UK.

Along with Self Skins 1-8, ‘A Chain of Being’, a framed work on paper, has also been handed over the Goldsmiths Textiles Collection. ‘Self Skin 9’is part of The Private Art Collection of Rose Knox-Peebles. ‘A Chain of Being’ was one of three Self Skin works on paper also part of my Goldsmiths 1995 Textile degree show.

Small Talk Exhibtion – 4th June – 25th July 2013

Two of my works will be in ‘Small Talk’ – a 62 Group of Textile Artists Exhibition at Constance Howard Gallery, Goldsmiths University of London, Deptford Town Hall, New Cross, London, SE14 6NW –  4th June  to 25th July 2013. – Please come along to the Private view on Thursday 13 June – 5pm to 8pm.

Please note that the entry times to the Small Talk exhibition at the Constance Howard Gallery at Goldsmiths, London are limited. The Gallery is open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays 11.00am – 5.00pm

62 Group Artists Heather Belcher and Lucy Brown will be in conversation, introducing the 62 Group, outlining its aims, history and its connections through textiles at Goldsmiths and beyond. As Goldsmith Textile Alumni, and 62 Group exhibiting and committee members, Heather and Lucy will reflect on their past and present individual practices and future projects of the 62 Group. There will be the opportunity to ask questions and join in discussion while having a chance to handle samples from the 62 Group’s Handling Collection.

The conversation is FREE & OPEN TO ALL – no booking required, just turn up!
